When Two Buck Chuck simply won't do, there's Alinea Oenophilia, a new wine subscription service from the exceptional Lincoln Park restaurant.

How it works: simply choose from two different options -- the Tasting Subscription (24 bottles per year, six per quarter) or the Tour Subscription (40 bottles per year, 10 per quarter) -- and score boutique wines, such as rarefied benchmark estate wines generally reserved for top restaurants. Each bottle is chosen by Alinea wine director Joe Catterson and his team of sommeliers.

With either package you'll get a gracious welcome kit containing a bottle of Laurent Perrier champagne, glassware and other grape-centric goodies. And with each delivery comes a recipe or food notes from acclaimed Alinea chef Grant Achatz on what to pair with the fine wine you just received.

Now for the dirty details, how much this V.I.P. wine treatment is going to set you back. The Tasting Subscription costs $1,400 a year, while the Tour Subscription will set you back $3,300.

Might we suggest you pull in some like-minded oenophile friends?
