Report: 10 Most Boring Places in Illinois

New Lenox was ranked as the most boring place in Illinois, according to the report

Some spots in Illinois may be booming with entertainment and excitement, but apparently the Land of Lincoln is home to some not-so-exciting places too.

Movoto Real Estate has released a list of the 10 most boring places in Illinois with the Village of New Lenox taking the top spot.

The report, which used a list of the 100 most populated places in America, ranked the Illinois locations using six categories—including nightlife per capita, music per capita, active life options per capita, fast food per capita, percentage of restaurants that are fast food and percentage of young residents ages 20 to 34.

New Lenox was ranked as the most boring place in Illinois with only 17 percent of residents falling between the ages of 18 and 35 and a limited number of nightlife and music venue options.

“Unfortunately you’re not going to find anything new in New Lenox,” the company wrote on their blog.

Following New Lenox was Rolling Meadows, Calumet City, Lake in the Hills, Huntley, Bolingbrook, Hanover Park, Oswego, Vernon Hills and Streamwood.

“Sleepy little places may be great to relax, retire, or raise families, but if you’re an adrenaline junkie high on the variety that is the spice of life, villages probably don’t attract your eye," the company posted on the blog.
