Man Holds Up Burger King In Evanston

Suspect ordered employees into the freezer and stole about $1,000

Police are looking for the man who held up a Burger King early Wednesday in north suburban Evanston.

An armed man entered the fast-food restaurant on the 1800 block of Dempster just after 6 a.m., police said. He ordered employees into a freezer and stole about $1,000.

"They were not locked in there but he had ordered them to stay in there for approximately 10 minutes," said Evanston police Cmdr. Jason Parrot.

The suspect is described as a black male who stands 5 feet, 3 inches to 5 feet, 5 inches tall. He was wearing a black winter coat with a fur-trim hood.
