Chief Keef for mayor? It appears the Chicago rapper has revealed plans to replace Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
Keef tweeted Tuesday that he is “running for mayor of Chicago.”
“Vote for me!!!! It’ll be the best thing done yet!!!!!” he tweeted. “Yall gonna love me in the Office……”
He later tweeted an Instagram photo of himself with the caption “Sosa 4 Mayor.”
The tweets come after Keef, whose real name is Keith Cozart, told his fans to call Emanuel and tell him to “stay the f--- off the people’s music.”
Keef was scheduled to hold a benefit concert in Chicago earlier this month, but plans for the event were derailed after the venue canceled, saying the theater “did not understand the full nature of the event.”

He later appeared briefly in a hologram perform ace at Craze Fest in Hammond, Indiana, but police shut the concert down within minutes.
Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott told the New York Times that he knows "nothing about Chief Keef" but said the concert was shut down because Keef has "been basically outlawed in Chicago, and we're not going to let you circumvent Mayor Emanuel by going next door."
The concert was first revealed as a benefit show after news broke about a shooting and car chase on the South Side that led to the deaths of Keef’s friend Marvin Carr, also known as rapper Capo, and 13-month-old Dillan Harris, who was killed when the vehicle fleeing the shooting scene crashed into his stroller.
Money collected at the concert was expected to be donated to Chicago charities and the victims’ families.
Keef was unable to appear in person for the concert due to an outstanding warrant. A video the rapper posted on Instagram alleges he has been "banned by the mayor of Chicago."
The warrant against Keef, who grew up in Englewood and has a history of gun and drug charges, stems from allegations that he hasn’t paid child support, according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County Sheriff’s Department.
