The cab driver involved in Tuesday morning's deadly crash was issued seven citations in connection with the accident, according to Chicago police.

John Kesse, 61, was cited for failure to reduce speed, driving on a sidewalk or parkways, failure to keep in a lane, negligent driving, disobeying a red light signal, driving more than 30 but less than 40 miles per hour over the speed limit, and damage to public property, said police spokesman Darryl Baety.

The crash killed Eric Kerestes, 31, a graduate student at the University of Chicago, who was waiting at a bus stop. Two others were injured in the crash.

The accident remained under investigation by the police Major Accident Investigation Unit Wednesday night, and charges are possible, police said.
