A 15-year-old boy was shot Sunday afternoon in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

At about 3:45 p.m., the boy was inside a van in the 300 block of South Springfield when someone fired shots at the vehicle, striking the teen in the neck and chest, police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition stabilized.
