It was the second body pulled from the water Saturday

A 47-year-old man was found dead in the Chicago River Saturday afternoon near Union Station on the city’s Near West Side.

The Chicago Police Marine Unit was called about a body in the water in the 200 block of South Riverside Plaza about 12:25 p.m., according to Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His name was withheld Sunday afternoon pending family notification.

Area Central detectives are conducting a noncriminal death investigation, Estrada said.

Another man was found dead in the water about three hours earlier in the Jackson Park Lagoon near the Museum of Science and Industry.
