Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart wants to be honest with potential voters, despite some mixed messages about his potential run for Mayor.

"I haven't hidden from them (voters) that I am examining the Mayor's office," Dart said Tuesday at a press conference announcing new foreclosure requirments for lending institutions.

Dart is rumored to be interested the mayor job. He's hired political strategist Joe Trippi, and sources say it's only a matter of time before he makes the call to get into the race.

Till then, Dart continues to play coy.

"The reality is a lot of people are focused on November 2nd because of what is at stake there," he said shifting focus to the statewide and national elections that take place in fewer than three weeks.
