Henry Melton is headed back to his home state.
It looks like Henry Melton is headed home.
The former Bears defensive tackle thanked Chicago for "the best 5 years of my life" on his Twitter feed, and said he "can't wait to begin the next chapter of my life... With a star on my helmet."
Melton, a 2012 Pro Bowler, visited the Cowboys on Monday and was scheduled to visit the St. Louis Rams on Tuesday.
He'll replace outgoing defensive tackle Jason Hatcher, who signed with the Cowboys, and also reunite with his old defensive coordinator, Rod Marinelli.
Melton's season was cut short after tearing his ACL in October.
Melton is from Grapevine, Texas and attended the University of Texas in Austin.
He currently faces a lawsuit stemming from his arrest after an altercation at a Texas bar in December.
Thank you chicago for the best 5 years of my life!.... I can't wait to begin the next chapter of my life... With a star on my helmet.
