Health officials across the Chicago area are urging people to get vaccinated ahead of the colder weather, especially with cases of RSV and the flu rising. NBC 5’s Lexi Sutter reports.

As the omicron variant completes its sweep across the U.S., states with scarce supplies of monoclonal antibody therapies continue to use two treatments that federal health officials warn no longer work against the highly contagious version of the virus that causes COVID-19.

Beginning Monday, the city of Chicago and several surrounding suburbs will begin a mandate requiring proof of vaccination for certain indoor spaces, including restaurants, bars, gyms and more.
