Arrieta takes mound with experienced infield behind him originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
Jake Arrieta takes the mound for the Cubs on Sunday, with a largely veteran lineup backing him in his first spring training start of the year.
In the infield, regular starters Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant and Javier Báez are joined by Nico Hoerner, who is fighting for an everyday job at second base. At the plate, Hoerner (7-for-8) is off to the hottest start of anyone in Cubs camp.
Jason Heyward anchors the outfield in right. Non-roster invitees Nick Martini and Rafael Ortega join him, in left and center, respectively.
Willson Contreras is set to start at catcher. Catching prospect Miguel Amaya is penciled in at designated hitter.
