NBA Wrap: Cavaliers Win at Home Again, Beat Rockets

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers made it 14 wins from 14 home games this season as LeBron James scored 27 points — 18 in the second half— in Tuesday's 99-90 win over the Houston Rockets in the NBA.

Mo Williams added 23 points for the Cavaliers, who improved to 23-2 in their past 25 games.

They did it against the Western Conference's best road team — Houston had won 11 straight road games against Eastern Conference teams dating to last season.

The Cavs are the first team to win their first 14 home games since Chicago and Orlando did it in 1995-96.

The Rockets had their four-game winning streak stopped.

Celtics 110, 76ers 91

In Boston, the home team set a franchise record with their 19th consecutive victory.

Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo got 18 points apiece for the Celtics, whose next major assignment is a clash with title rivals Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day.

The Celtics improved to 27-2 — the best start for a two-loss team in NBA history. And the 19-game winning streak broke the Celtics record set in 1981-82.

Lakers 100, Hornets 87

In New Orleans, Kobe Bryant scored 26 points as Los Angeles beat New Orleans in a performance more dominant than the scoreline indicated.

Pau Gasol added 20 points for the Lakers, who stormed to a 19-point halftime lead and led by 20 early in the fourth quarter.

Trail Blazers 101, Nuggets 92

In Portland, Oregon, Portland beat Denver to draw level atop the Northwest Division.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 22 points and Brandon Roy added 19 for the Blazers.

A sore elbow kept Denver's leading scorer, Carmelo Anthony, out for the second consecutive night. He is expected to miss Friday's game against Philadelphia, too.

Bucks 94, Jazz 86

In Milwaukee, the home team won its fifth straight home game, beating an undermanned Utah.

Michael Redd scored 27 points for the Bucks, who also won for the fifth time in six games overall and snapped an eight-game losing streak against the Jazz.

Pistons 104, Bulls 98

In Auburn Hills, Michigan, Rodney Stuckey scored 40 points, topping his previous career high by 13, as Detroit beat Chicago.

The Pistons overcame a groin strain to Allen Iverson, who managed only five points before sitting out most of the second half.

Mavericks 100, Grizzlies 82

In Dallas, the home team stretched its winning streak over Memphis to 13 games.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 points and Jason Terry added 17 for the Mavericks.

Memphis pulled to 89-80 with 3:40 left, but Nowitzki answered with a three-point play.

Nets 108, Pacers 107

In Indianapolis, Devin Harris' jump shot from the top of the key as time expired gave New Jersey a victory over Indiana.

The Pacers had just taken the lead on a jumper from Danny Granger with 10 seconds to play.

Harris finished with 29 points and 11 assists.

Heat 96, Warriors 88

In Miami, the home team matched last year's entire win total, beating Golden State.

Dwyane Wade had 32 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, and Daequan Cook scored 15 of his 20 points to spark a second-quarter comeback as Miami reached the 15-win mark in 27 games — 55 fewer than it needed to get there last season.

Golden State has lost 16 of 19. The Warriors are off to their worst 30-game start since 1999-2000.

Spurs 99, Timberwolves 93

In San Antonio, the home team handed Minnesota its 13th consecutive loss.

Tony Parker scored 36 points on 13-of-17 shooting for the Spurs.

The Timberwolves (4-23) trailed by 16 heading into the fourth quarter and cut it to three with less than three minutes left before the Spurs put it away.

Hawks 99, Thunder 88

In Atlanta, Joe Johnson had his second career triple-double in Atlanta's victory over Oklahoma City.

Johnson had 20 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, while Marvin Williams scored 21 points as the Hawks notched a third straight win.

The Thunder have lost 10 of 11, falling to 1-13 on the road and 3-26 overall.

Bobcats 80, Wizards 72

In Charlotte, North Carolina, Charlotte pulled away in the fourth quarter to send reeling Washington to the worst start in franchise history.

The woeful Wizards dropped to 4-22, the worst record after 26 games in the team's 48-year history.

Emeka Okafor had 29 points and 18 rebounds for the Bobcats in an ugly game befitting the two worst teams in the East. Charlotte won despite shooting only 42 percent and committing 18 turnovers.

Shooting just 32 percent and dominated inside, the Wizards faded late in their seventh straight loss.
