CHICAGO -- Voters who were unable to participate in Early Voting and can provide a valid excuse under the law why they cannot make it to their polling place on Election Day may vote in-person absentee starting Friday.
In-person absentee voting will be available Oct. 31 - Nov. 3 at Clerk David Orr's six offices:

Some of the allowable excuses include: voter will be absent from county on Nov. 4; observing a religious holiday; serving as a juror; working as an election official or polling place worker; or if a voter is disabled.

EARLY VOTING TURNOUT EXCEEDS 200,000
More than 14,000 voters cast ballots Thursday at 44 suburban sites between polls opening and 1:30 p.m., bringing the cumulative Early Voting tally to more than 212,000. That's greater than quadruple the total turnout during the primary's Early Voting period.
