Brady: Quinn Should Bounce Prisons Director

Bill Brady for Governor

Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady said Gov. Pat Quinn should fire his state prisons director over an inmate early release program, according to the Chicago Tribune.

When initially confronted with the program as uncovered by the Associated Press, Quinn stonewalled, then later said he did have some knowledge about it. But prisons chief Michael Randle told the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability that Quinn was responsible for it, according to Brady.

According to a transcript provided by Brady, who is a member of the commission, Randle said it "was a program that was recommended and approved by the governor's office."

In a statement Monday, Brady argues that, assuming Quinn  is being truthful, Randle should be fired for lying to a bi-partisan commission.
