Nazi-seized artworks by Picasso, Matisse and other prominent 20th Century artists that were missing for decades have reportedly been found in a food-littered Munich apartment. Appraisers will value the retrieved artwork, which include paintings, drawings and prints, but the German news magazine Focus has valued the pieces at more than 1 billion euros, or $1.3 billion. If confirmed, the find would be the largest discovery of artwork plundered by Nazis from Jews and other Nazi-occupied nations during World War II. More than 20 percent of the art of Europe was looted by the Nazis under Hitler, and as many as 100,000 works are still thought to be missing.
