Video Shows Moment Gunfire Rang Out in Little Village Thursday

A video posted to social media Thursday shows the moment that gunfire rang out on a street in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood that was packed with kids trick-or-treating for Halloween.

The video, which has since been taken down from social media, shows individuals running down a street in the neighborhood on Thursday afternoon, then audible gunshots can be heard popping.

After the gunshots are fired, a group of people can be seen running from the scene.

The shooting left a 7-year-old girl critically injured after she was shot in the neck and chest. The girl was trick-or-treating with her family when she was shot, and she was rushed to an area hospital.

A 31-year-old man, whom police believe was being chased by the assailants before the shooting, was hit in the hand by gunfire, and is in stable condition at an area hospital.

No suspects are in custody, and an investigation is ongoing.
