The NHL is busy with the Stanley Cup Playoffs at the moment, but the league is also ratcheting up their promotion of the upcoming World Cup of Hockey, and Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane is part of that push.
In a new advertisement that was released on Wednesday, Kane appears in a simulated interview segment with a Canadian journalist, who is trying to prod the star into answering a question about who Team USA’s biggest rival will be in the upcoming event.
It doesn’t go well:
“I really hope you’re better at hockey than you are at soundbites.” Ouch, dapper mustachioed Canadian journalist.
Kane is one of nine Blackhawks players that were included on preliminary rosters for the World Cup of Hockey, which will take place in September at Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
