Authorities said a viaduct collapsed on Chicago's South Side early Tuesday, shutting down 87th Street in both directions near the Skyway.

Chicago police said they were called at around 2 a.m. for a road collapse on 87th Street at Anthony Avenue.

Officials said the city's Department of Streets and Sanitation and the Chicago Transit Authority were both notified.

No injuries were reported in the incident, according to police.

East 87th Street was closed in both directions between Anthony Avenue and South Chicago Avenue, officials said.

Further details, including the cause of the collapse, were not immediately available.
