Summer Warmth to End This Week

Temps continue to drop through the week to the 50s and 60s

Soak up the summer sun, Chicago. This may be your final day.

Monday follows the weekend's sunny trend with highs reaching 87 during the day and breezy, mild temps taking over in the evening, according to NBCChicago's Andy Avalos.

An isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible early Tuesday morning before the sun reappears later in the day. Rain brings the start of cooler, fall-like temperatures, with highs between 71 and 75 degrees.

Later in the week, temps continue to drop, lingering in the 50s and 60s, according to Avalos.

The National Weather Service predicts a mix of clouds and sun on Wednesday, as well as highs of 67 and a 20 percent chance of showers in the evening. Thursday brings breezy, cool weather and possible lake-effect showers.

The sun should come out again Friday to warm temperatures to a high near 65. The sun continues to shine through the weekend, reaching highs of lower 70s.
