Man Drives Distance With Taser Dart in His Back

A Des Plaines man who was arrested Sunday for drunken driving is believed to have driven from the northwest suburb to Chicago’s West Side with a Taser dart in his back.

Police and Jeffrey Hersh’s mother are trying to figure out how the 37-year-old man got from Des Plaines, where he is believed to have been Tasered during a shoplifting incident, to Humboldt Park, where he was found after crashing his van at North Central Park Avenue and West Division Street.

His mother, who asked that her name not be used, said he was found slumped over the wheel.

Kara Spak has more details in the Chicago Sun-Times.
