Man Faces DUI Charges After Allegedly Striking, Killing Pregnant Woman

A 67-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly struck and killed a 29-year-old woman while driving intoxicated in suburban Streamwood.

According to Streamwood police, Hinigo Olvera was charged with aggravated DUI causing death in connection with the incident, which occurred Monday night.

Authorities said 29-year-old Aries Cobian, of Glendale Heights, was one of two pedestrians pushing a 1994 Oldsmobile sedan eastbound on Lake Street when it was struck from behind by a Toyota pickup truck.

Cobian, who was 12 weeks pregnant, was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

Cobian had four children, including a six-month-old.

Olvera is in custody pending a bond hearing Wednesday.
