Gun-Toting Teacher In “Fear for His Life”

Social studies teacher had loaded Glock

A call to the Mokena police reported a man with a gun in the parking lot of a local bar.

When police arrived at the Post Game Pub & Sedona Grill on Willow Lane Monday night, they found 40-year-old Joseph J. Golchini sitting in his car with a loaded Glock semi-automatic pistol, said Mokena Police Cmdr. Dan Rankovich.

Golchini, a teacher at South Holland's Thornwood High School, told police he had the gun "because he was in fear for his life," Rankovich said.

The social studies teacher was arrested and is being held at the Will County Jail on a felony charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

He's scheduled to go before a judge on Tuesday.
