The bitter temperatures will start to warm by the afternoon hours with light snow developing and continuing into the evening.
Afternoon temps will slowly climb to between 0 and 5 degrees by the late evening hours.
Snow will taper off overnight, leaving potentially accumulating snow in some locations by dawn.
Anywhere from 1 to 2 inches will be possible in areas north of Chicago, with up to 4 inches possible south.

By Sunday, temps are expected to be in the mid-40s, marking a more than 70-degree increase.
