Ryan Hartman Fined for Slash vs. Golden Knights

Chicago Blackhawks winger Ryan Hartman has always played with a physical edge to his game, but his willingness to throw his weight around has cost him some money.

On Tuesday night, Hartman was given a slashing penalty after he took a whack at Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb during a game in Las Vegas. The play occurred after McNabb hit Blackhawks winger Nick Schmaltz hard along the boards, and Hartman was given two different penalties for retaliating after the hit.

The NHL didn’t appreciate Hartman’s actions, fining the winger $2320.79, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for the hit.

The Blackhawks were able to kill off both of Hartman’s penalties, but they still lost the game 4-2 to the Knights as the teams battled for the first time ever.
