Rip Hamilton To Appear On NBA TV During the Playoffs

Despite being eliminated in the Playoffs, the Bulls continue to make news.

Bulls shooting guard Rip Hamilton will be joining the in-studio TV crew at NBA TV according to a Chicago Tribune report. Hamilton is slated to join the crew on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Hamilton will make his debut at 6:30 PM, Central time on Wednesday, joining hosts Rick Kamla, Greg Anthony and Dennis Scott.

Despite being unceremoniously eliminated in the first round of the NBA Playoffs at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers, several members of the Bulls have still remained to keep themselves in the news after seasons end.

First, Derrick Rose's ACL surgery and the subsequent press conference on his health status was big news as the Dr. Brian Cole announced that Rose could be out for up to 12 months. That news in and of itself created a pit in the stomach of Bulls fans who were hoping the young superstar would be out no more than nine months, at best.

Following the Rose surgery, the news machine shifted to reserve guard CJ Watson, who drew the ire of Bulls fans for his play in the Sixers series and his decision late in Game 6 to pass the ball to Omer Asik instead of taking the foul to go to the free-throw line with the Bulls up just one point with seconds to go in the game.

Watson, as it was reported, underwent surgery for plantar fasciitis in both feet, a condition he attributes to his poor play as he told the Chicago Tribune.

“It was hard. I couldn't do all the things I'm usually capable of doing. But I knew with Derrick [Rose] out, I had to give the team what I could.

Bulls fans are all too familiar with the way plantar fasciitis has wreaked havoc on the team. Joakim Noah was sidelined with the condition two years ago that not only sidelined him for ten games in the middle of a playoff race, but famously caused a physical altercation between VP John Paxson and then Head Coach, Vinny Del Negro about Noah's minutes after a home loss to the New Jersey Nets.

Taj Gibson, who was just named to USA Basketball's select team, fought his own battle with plantar fasciitis the same season as Noah.

And speaking of Noah, he made news of his own today when Complex Magazine reported that former University of Arizona point guard, Nic Wise, sent a text to Noah's girlfriend that Joakim not only intercepted, but responded to, prompting Wise to mock him on Twitter.
