Person Arrested After Man Stabbed to Death at Harrah's Joliet Hotel

Authorities were called at 9:57 p.m. for reports of the stabbing at the Harrah’s Joliet Hotel and Casino

A person of interest is in custody after a Wisconsin man was stabbed to death Sunday night at a hotel in southwest suburban Joliet.

Authorities were called about 10 p.m. for a stabbing at the Harrah’s Joliet Hotel and Casino in the 100 block of Joliet Street, Joliet police said in a statement.

Officers found Emmanuel M. Burgrino, 76, in a hallway of the hotel with multiple stab wounds, police said. Someone had apparently attacked him as he was leaving his room.

Burgrino, who lived in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, was pronounced dead at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, police and the Will County coroner said.

Police announced Monday afternoon that a person of interest was located and arrested at the Joliet Public Library in the 100 block of North Ottawa Street, police said. Detectives had released surveillance image of a suspect earlier in the day.

Joliet police said they are no longer looking for anyone related to the case. The department said the investigation is ongoing.
