Ingleside Man Takes Home $5 Million Lottery Prize

The man won the prize in the Aug. 19 Illinois Lotto drawing

An Ingleside man is $5 million richer after he won an Illinois Lotto drawing last month, according to lottery officials.

The man, who requested anonymity when he presented the winning ticket, purchased the ticket at a liquor store in Ingleside prior to the Aug. 19 drawing. He matched the six winning numbers – 24, 24, 28, 39, 41, and 46 – and claimed the jackpot prize of $5 million.

Now, the man plans to invest his winnings in a new business.

“I plan to invest in me and to own my own automotive business,” he said. “I will work harder than I ever have before.”

The man says he has been playing the lottery since 1974, and has purchased his tickets from the same retailer for years. That store will receive a bonus check of $50,000 for selling the winning ticket.

The man also said he will share his winnings with his family, saying that “you can’t be greedy with found money.”
