It's teetering on winter for all of us in the Midwest. And Wisconsin is showing its love to snowplow drivers on Wednesday.
Gov. Jim Doyle proclaimed the day Snowplow Driver Appreciation Day. It's meant to remind motorists before the snow falls the importance the state's snowplow drivers play in keeping streets safe.
The Midwest, including Wisconsin, had one of the snowiest winters ever. Madison broke a record with over 101 inches of snow.
The state Department of Transportation says many people drive too fast for conditions, resulting in about 17,000 vehicle crashes each winter.
