Driver Cited After 7-Year-Old Hit by Pace Bus

The girl, a pedestrian, was struck by the bus about 3:15 p.m. in the Wal-Mart Supercenter parking lot at 1275 Lake Ave.

The driver of a Pace bus that hit a 7-year-old girl in a northwest suburban Wal-Mart parking lot Tuesday received two citations following the accident.

Police said Wednesday Lynne R. Keller of Huntley was cited for "failure to use due care" while operating a motor vehicle and "failure to signal" when required.

The 7-year-old girl was hit by the bus around 3:15 p.m. in the Wal-Mart Supercenter parking lot at 1275 Lake Ave. in Woodstock, authorities said.

The bus was driving south down one of the lanes in the parking lot when it hit the young girl.

The girl was transported to Centegra Hospital in critical condition before being airlifted by Flight For Life to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, according to the Woodstock Police Department.

While the girl's condition was not immediately known Wednesday, police said she was released from the hospital.

Keller is expected to appear in McHenry County court on Feb. 26.
