The defense at Drew Peterson's murder trial lashed at the credibility of a key state witness by broaching a contract she signed for a movie and book about the case.
The sister of Peterson's alleged victim told jurors earlier Friday about how Peterson once put a knife to her sister's throat and threatened her.
The 58-year-old Peterson has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the 2004 death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.
During cross-examination Savio's sister, Susan Doman, conceded she had a significant financial interest in the media projects.
Pressed by defense attorney Joe Lopez, Doman also agreed that the contracts allowed for fictionalizing parts of her sister's story to make it more dramatic.
Lopez projected the contract onto a large courtroom screen as he questioned Doman.
