CTA Red Line Service Interrupted After Employee Injured on South Side

The CTA is urging commuters to find alternate routes home as “massive delays” are impacting the Red Line on the city’s South Side.

Thursday afternoon, an injured employee caused service to be shut down between 63rd Street and 95th Street, according to the agency. According to officials, a 42-year-old man was transported to a local hospital in serious-to-critical condition.

Trains are only operating from 63rd to Howard, and commuters are urged to use the Brown or Green Line, or local buses on the city's South Side.

Shuttle buses will be available to provide connecting service in the impacted area, the agency says.

We’ll have more details as they become available.
