A serious crash involving three tractor trailers snarled traffic on Interstate 90 near Illinois Route 47 west of Elgin on Thursday morning.
An Illinois State Police official said a tractor trailer heading eastbound somehow jumped the median on the roadway, known as the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway, and crashed head-on into another tractor trailer heading westbound.
All westbound lanes of Interstate 90 were blocked as of 7 a.m. Eastbound traffic was getting by using just one lane.
It was immediately unclear as to the extend of any injuries, though ISP reported that one person was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
