Lana Gehring, originally of north suburban Glenview, earned a spot on the U.S. women’s short track speed skating team Friday.
"I just really wanted to be back at what I loved to do," she said in an interview.
Katherine Reutter-Adamek, also an Illinois athelete, still has a shot Saturday or Sunday.
Lana trains in Salt Lake City.
