Pair Face Felony Arson Charges

Rafael Delgado, 39, and Anthony Ray Catala, 19, were both scheduled to appear in bond court on Wednesday

Two Chicago men were brought up on felony arson charges early Wednesday in connection with a garage fire in the Bridgeport neighborhood a day earlier.

Rafael Delgado, 39, and Anthony Ray Catala, 19, were both scheduled to appear in bond court on Wednesday.

Officials said the men were reponsible for the Tuesday morning garage fire on the 2900 block of South Canal Street but didn't offer any details of their investigation.

Police said that when he was arrested, Delgado, of the 800 block of West 33rd Street, was found with a baseball bat and a spotlight that had previously been reported stolen.

Three other trash can fires were reported near the garage fire, but officials did not say whether they believed the fires were related.
