Chicago police detectives said Tuesday morning that four people were being questioned in connection with a string of fires in the south side Bridgeport neighborhood.

A fire at a garage on the 2900 block of South Canal Street at about 1:40 a.m. was deemed the work of an arsonist. That fire damaged other nearby garages.

Three separate trash can fires were reported nearby, in the 3000 block of South Union Avenue, shortly afterward.

Detectives said they were working to determine if all of the fires were related.
