For the second year in a row, Fifth Third Bank will give away cash to babies born on Thursday in honor of the bank’s namesake day (5/3).
The bank will give out $1,053 gift cards to babies born on May 3 at 19 hospitals in the Chicago area, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Although the bank encourages parents to prioritize saving the money to go toward college funds, families are able to spend it at their discretion.
Fifth Third Bank first launched this program last year at its headquarters in Cincinnati.
This year, the bank decided to continue its new tradition by expanding to the city.
