Concern Over Missing Boys Grows

"America's Most Wanted" to mention boys Saturday

The FBI says the appearances of two small boys missing from a central Illinois town may have changed since they disappeared earlier this month.

Nine-year-old Duncan Connolly and his 7-year-old brother Jack, who both live in LeRoy, were reported missing March 8 after their father allegedly failed to return them to their mother after a custody visit.

"As each day goes by, it heightens our concern for the safety of the children," McLean County Sheriff Mike Emery told reporters during an update Tuesday on the search.

No one has been charged with wrongdoing in the case, but FBI officials allege the boys' father may have cut and colored his sons hair or taken other steps to hide their identities.

LeRoy is 15 miles southeast of Bloomington.

Duncan weighs 66 pounds and is 3 feet, 6 inches tall. Jack weighs 62 pounds and stands 3 feet, 4 inches.

Areas of northern Illinois, where Connolly previously lived, and Florida, where he has family, are places of interest in the search, The (Bloomington) Pantagraph reported.

The television show “America’s Most Wanted” is expected to mention the missing LeRoy boys on its Saturday broadcast, said Emery.
