He was ordered held on $10,000 bail

A northwest suburban man was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer after he allegedly punched an officer in the face after a Dave Matthews Band concert at Northerly Island on the Fourth of July.

Police said Gerald Chverchko, 42, of Huntley, was walking in the street just before midnight outside the pavilion disrupting traffic when officers asked him to exit the street.

An officer was escorting Chverchko to the sidewalk at 1300 S. Lynn White Drive when Chverchko allegedly “struck the officer with a closed fist.”

Chverchko was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting a peace officer and was ordered held on $10,000 bail, according to the Chicago Tribune.
