4 Arrested in Suburban Burglary

A man, a woman and two teenage boys have been charged with burglarizing a home Wednesday in north suburban Beach Park.

Deputies were called about the burglary in the 10500 block of Marc Court in Beach Park on April 6, according to a statement from the Lake County sheriff’s office. Someone had forced entry through a rear door and window and stolen electronics and jewelry from within the house.

After canvassing the neighborhood, investigators identified a vehicle that might have been involved in the burglary, the sheriff’s office said. The next day, a deputy on patrol conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and found stolen items from the burglary inside.

All five of the vehicle’s occupants were interviewed by detectives, and four of them were charged with the burglary, according to the sheriff’s office.

Chanybien McMillon, 20; and 18-year-old Javonatee Friar were both charged with one felony count each of residential burglary and criminal damage to property, the sheriff’s office said. McMillon lives in the 2300 block of North Jackson Street in Waukegan while Friar lives in the 1300 block of Joanna Avenue in Zion.

Two teenage boys, ages 17 and 15, were also charged with residential burglary and criminal damage to property, according to the sheriff’s office. The 15-year-old was additionally charged with obstructing justice. They were both taken to the Hulse Juvenile Detention Center pending a juvenile detention hearing.

McMillon and Friar were both ordered held at the Lake County Jail on $30,000 bail, the sheriff’s office said. They are scheduled to appear in court again April 12.
