3-Year-Old Boy Shot in Calumet Heights: Police

A 3-year-old boy was shot Saturday morning in Chicago's Calumet Heights neighborhood, according to authorities.

In the 9300 block of South Escanaba at approximately 10:45 a.m., police said a 3-year-old boy was shot in the back while inside a residence.

The boy was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital, then transferred to Comer Children's Hospital in good condition. The shooting may have been accidental, according to authorities.

No one was in custody as of Saturday evening, and Area Two detectives were investigating.
