Two teenagers were shot while in a car on the Dan Ryan expressway overnight on Chicago’s South Side.
Illinois State Police said the juvenile men were traveling in the northbound lanes of I-90/I-94 in a black Chevrolet just before midnight when shots were fired.
The driver of the vehicle managed to make it off the ramp at 59th Street, according to police, before stopping to call for help.
Both victims were transported to Cook County’s Stroger Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No one is in custody as the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The shooting marks the 16th expressway shooting in Illinois so far this year, according to state police, after a total of 37 in 2015.
