What the VIPs Ate on Election Night

Limelight Catering Creates Election Night Menu for Obama Rally Ticket Holders

In what must have been one of the more memorable catering assignments, Chicago's Limelight Catering got the nod to provide food for the thousands of VIP ticket holders at last night's presidential party in Grant Park.

So what did those privileged few nosh on while watching history be made? Chicago PR team Kurman Communications provided some insight on its blog. Apparently, the menu included everything from rosemary roasted tomato soup and a warm spinach-and-herb dip to spicy beef sirloin tamale bites with pico de gallo and a foccacia sandwich with roasted free-range chicken, fresh mozzarella and roasted red pepper. To end the celebration on a sweet note, Limelight served a "perfect" chocolate cake.

Sounds presidential to us. After all, you can't change the world on an empty stomach.
