What You're Doing Tonight, 6/11

SummerDance steps off, girly girls host a party and NPR goes open air

TRIP THE LIGHT FANTASTIC: It's time for SummerDance, Chicago's annual festival of alfresco footwork. The weekly event, which takes place at the Spirit of Music Garden in Grant Park, features all types of music -- from swing to salsa to klezmer -- and offers one hour of professional dance instruction. Tonight's spotlight dance is flamenco rumba taught by Ensemble Espanol Spanish Dance Theater with music by the Bandoleros. 6-9:30PM, free.

GIRL POWER: It's high time for a ladies' night, so plan to meet up with the girls at Red 7 Salon in River North tonight for the Summer Solstice Beauty Event, hosted by Chicago Girly Girl. You'll get to feast on Nutella crepes and truffled popcorn courtesy of Fig Catering, taste Mad Housewife wines, shop for looks by local fashion and jewelry designers and enjoy beauty treatments. 6-8:30PM, $20.

NOT YOUR TYPICAL GAME SHOW: See a live taping of NPR's "Wait, Wait ... Don't Tell Me!" at the outdoor Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park tonight. The clever quiz show features host Peter Sagal, scorekeeper Carl Kassell and panelists Amy Dickinson, Charlie Pierce and Paul Provenza. 6:30PM, free.
