Meet and greet with authors, sip wines from Spain and see Flogging Molly

THE WRITE STUFF: The 13th annual Story Week Festival of Writers hosted by the Columbia College Chicago Fiction Writing Department gets underway with appearances by authors Francine Prose (2:30 and 6PM at the Harold Washington Library Center) and Marcus Sakey (9:30PM at Sheffield's). Free.

WINE DOWN: Sample wines from Spain and Portugal at a monthly tasting at D.O.C. Wine Bar in Lincoln Park. Wine director Greg Sorrell leads the event, which also includes an array of appetizers. 7-9PM, $35. 

SHAMROCK 'N' ROLL: See Irish-meets-punk rock band Flogging Molly perform live at House of Blues tonight. The group is known for its use of traditional Celtic instruments like violin, mandolin and accordion, merged with aggressive guitars and drums, as well as its raucous live shows. 9PM, $25-$28.
