Watch the Velvet Underground Get Busted

Rock Doc: In 1966, artist Andy Warhol brought a burgeoning group of rockers to his famed Factory space, trained cameras on them, and let them go wild. The result is The Velvet Underground and Nico, Warhol's legendary experimental film documenting a live performance—and, eventually, a police bust—from its titular band. The movie screens at Doc Films tonight. $5 tickets available at the door. 7:00 p.m.

Musical Oddball: Wildly prolific, weirdly eclectic experimental-pop weirdo R. Stevie Moore brings his nigh-on-indescribable thing to the Empty Bottle tonight. Moore rather famously has hundreds upon hundreds of albums to his credit; it should be quite a merch table. He'll be joined by fellow oddballs Tropical Ooze, Brain Idea and John Bellows. Free with RSVP. 9:00 p.m.

Puppetmasters: All-improv puppet show Felt hits the stage of iO Chicago tonight. If you thought Team America was raunchy, well, wait to you see this crew elbow-deep in plush. $5 tickets available here. 8:00 p.m.
