If you consider shopping a competitive sport, better lace up your stiletto boots. The 37th-annual Gazebo Holiday Market, hosted by the Junior League of Chicago, is set to take over the River East Art Center from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22. Featuring an array of clothing, accessories, jewelry, stationery, artwork and more by more than 40 local and national designers, the Gazebo Holiday Market is an annual must-shop op for many Chicagoans.
Featured Chicago designers include men's neckwear from Bird Dog Bay, custom handbags from 1154 Lill Street and hand-designed wrapping paper, note cards and artwork from Anink Design. And because the Gazebo Holiday Market is as much a social event as it is about the shopping, there will be a Bill Blass New York-sponsored lounge, as well as mini-makeovers from Trish McEvoy. A bevy of hors d'oeuvres and cocktails will fuel the crowd for even more retail therapy.
Admission to the Gazebo Holiday Market is $10, with proceeds benefitting the Junior League's various community-based programs. A private preview night takes place from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, with hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, raffle prizes and entertainment along with first dibs on the merch. Admission is $75, $85 at the door. Advance tickets are available on the Junior League's Website.
