Plane Crash-Lands On Suburban Road

A small plane has crash-landed on Weber Road in Bolingbrook.

Emergency crews are responding to the crash of a small plane near the Bolingbrook Clow International Airport in the southwestern suburbs Thursday.

The Bolingbrook Fire and Police departments are currently at the scene of the crash near Lily Cache Lane and Weber Road, according to a Bolingbrook Fire Department spokeswoman.

A Fire Department dispatcher could only confirm that a plane did go down.

Joe DiPaolo, manager of Clow Airport, said that the occupants of the plane were walking and talking after the crash, but that they were transported by ambulance from the scene.

The airport, he said, is up and running and the Federal Aviation Administration will begin it's investigation before the plane is removed from the roadway.

No vehicles were hit, DiPaolo said, but initial indications are the wing clipped a tree on its way down.

A driver in the area told NBC5 that he saw the plane clip a cement truck on its descent.
