A 98-year-old grandmother was pulled from her damaged home in central Italy today, after spending two days trapped in the rubble from a deadly earthquake in the region.
The woman said she stayed in bed knitting after the earthquake hit, despite the rubble that surrounded her.
Firemen used a ladder to reach her. She was lifted through a window and lowered to the ground in a cherry picker.
Once on her feet, she told journalists that she felt OK and that she passed time with her stitchwork.
