Father, Sons Killed En Route to Family Christmas

Crash on icy road kills three of four vehicle occupants

The family and friends of a North Dakota man and his sons killed on an icy Minnesota interstate while on their way to Indiana spent Christmas trying to process the tragedy and remember the good things.

Thomas Dunnuck of West Fargo and his three children were driving to Etna Green --  which is south of South Bend --  for a family Christmas celebration at his parents' house. Dunnuck's Chevy Trailblazer struck a tractor trailer pulled off the road to help another car that had slid out, then hit that car as well.

Killed was 48-year-old Dunnuck, and his two sons, Samuel, 15, and Gabriel, 12. His daughter, Annie, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, where she was in fair condition.

Thomas Dunnuck's father, Forst Dunnuck, told "The Forum of Fargo" that his son's six siblings spent Christmas talking about cheerful memories of those they lost. He said the family's faith is helping them through.
