Dance Friday Rewind

I can't believe that it's been a year since we started Dance Friday. Within a month after we first tried it, we managed to polish it up, move it around, play some cool songs and it became the coolest thing to hit the NBC 5 newsroom since Art Norman!!

Think about the songs we've used. Everything from Brooks and Dunn to OutKast, Kurtis Blow to Hot Chocolate. Even Ray Charles, Kenny Loggins and Beck have made the cut. MC Hammer appeared live from the Super Bowl (kinda). Mascots from just about every sports team in Chicago have all been in on the fun. Dick Johnson dance with the Luvabulls. We did the Jai Ho song, the Blues Brothers, and Thriller Dance. Rihianna has been heard the most on Dance Friday (three times).

We've even had a Traffic Guy Dance Off back in July when I was upended by Cincinnati's finest rug-cutter Bob Herzog. We hyped that thing for six weeks! Yet we still performed as well as advertised. It was the most interesting June around the NBC Tower since the Bulls went to the NBA Finals in 1998 (okay, now I'm being ridiculous).

Still it's been a blast, we're looking for new ideas, and we're ready to keep it going!

Here's your first look back at all the fun in the last year. Enjoy!
